Dumpster Dime Tube Driven Boost/Overdrive Pedal #02

Introducing the Dumpster Dime! Powered by three vintage 12AV7 vacuum tubes, this pedal is Junkbox Amplification's modified and enhanced circuit based on the Valvecaster. The Dumpster Dime is the Dumpster Dive on steroids! When the single footswitch is activated, the three vacuum tubes roar to life in cascade of gain and saturation. Instead of using potentiometers to control the gain, fixed resistors are used to maximize the gain of each tube to produce an incredible overdriven tone. A volume knob is used to control the pedal output volume. That's all there really is too it. The Dumpster Dime is simple, no bullshit, and 100% rock n roll! Three orange led's are installed at the base of each tube socket and illuminate the tubes the foot switch is activated.

This pedal runs on 12 volts DC, power supply included. This pedal is hand drilled and and hand point to point wired (no PCB's) by me one at a time. Since this pedal is point to point wired it is easily repairable when components wear out over time. The control knobs and labels are 3d printed in house. The U-bolt and extension spring tube cage protect the 12AV7 tubes from damage and the design draws its inspiration from early 1900's industrial motif.

The beauty of this circuit is that it also functions well with other tubes in the 9 pin 12XXX family. In addition to 12AU7's, 12AV7's, 12AT7's, 12AY7's, 12BH7's and 12BZ7's all work well in this pedal. This allows the user to try different tube combinations to customize to the desired tone. The differences in using the various tubes listed are subtle but noticeable.

If you are interested in adding more tubes to increase tonal options, the following vacuum tube expansion packages are available. Add on one 12AU7 and one 12AT7 for $20. Add on a set of three 12AU7's or a set of three 12AT7's for an additional $25.00. Add on a combined set of 12AU7's or 12AT7's (6 tubes total) for an additional $50.00. The stock 12AV7 tubes come with the pedal in addition to any vacuum tube expansion package that is purchased.
