MPS Junkbox #74

MPS... what does MPS stand for? That's a fair question. This Junkbox's prior life was in the Milwaukee Public Schools this was the brand MPS received. MPS is a tonal anomaly, that features a searing fuzz with a very interesting note decay. The tone is so junky it's near the pinnacle of junktone in the Junkbox lineup. MPS has been in my private collection for quite a while, will I regret listing this one for sale? Maybe, so you might want to buy it before I decide to put it in back into my private collection. I've decided to pair this listing with Output Control Stompbox #42 so this amazing tone can be incorporated into the signal chain.

MPS runs on AC Power or 4 C-Cell Batteries. This unit also features a carrying handle that stows conveniently into the unit. MPS features a 1/4" mono headphone jack outputs.

Batteries not included. Cassette tape player and recorder functions have been disabled as part of the conversion process. These are pics of the actual unit that you will receive. Please see videos of MPS Junkbox #74 on the Instagram Feed for sound samples.

Output Control Stompbox #42:

What does this thing do? I'm glad you asked. Imagine you've dialed in the perfect fuzz or dirt tone on your Junkbox and you want to incorporate this tone into your signal chain and use your Junkbox like an effects pedal. The Junkbox Amplification Output Control Box is the solution to this problem! Plug your guitar into the 1/4" jack labeled "input." Plug your guitar amp into the 1/4" jack labeled "output." Plug the input jack of the Junkbox into the 1/4" jack labeled "S." "S" is short for "Send." Plug the output jack of the Junkbox into the 1/4" jack labeled "R." "R" is short for "Return." Use the footswitch to engage and disengage the Output Control Stompbox. When the LED indicator is illuminated, the Junkbox is incorporated into the signal chain. When the LED indicator is off, the Junkbox is bypassed in the signal chain. Start with the volume knob off (all the way to the left) and dial in an appropriate volume to match the volume when the Junkbox is bypassed in the signal chain. Now you're ready to rock, it's that simple! Only recommended for use with a Junkbox and not intended for any other purpose.
